Young People
All people are always welcomed by all 3 churches, whatever their age. In order to encourage family, children and youth inclusiveness, we do our best to make special provision for younger people at the family freindly services as follows:
St. Helen's Church at Trowell,
St. Catherine's Church at Cossall,
St. Peters Church at Awsworth.
Cossall
Children of all ages are really welcome to drop in to the St Catherine's
Children's Group during the All Age Worship service every first and third
Sunday of the month at 09:30 am.
The children join with the rest of the congregation to start the service and spend 30 minutes with group leaders in the vestry or old school room hearing stories, singing songs and creating craft and artwork. The children then show and tell the grown ups in the service what they have been doing and we all sing the last song together.
For more information, please contact Kate Morgan: see the contacts
page for details.
Messy Church:We come together to worship God in an informal service. with a 3:30 pm start (Note; New Start Time) 4th Sunday of the Month
At each service there are a number of crafts, catering for different abilities and encouraging all ages to take part. Adults join in, often with the excuse that they are there to help, while parents and carers come with their children.
For more information, please contact Rachel or Martin Strang: see the contacts

Trowell
There are currently a core group of 40 + children who attend the 10:30 am
service on a Sunday morning. They are taught (during school term time) by
a dedicated team of workers who use material from various sources to give
the children a balanced spiritual input.
Everybody is together as a church family at the beginning and the end of each service. Children are encouraged to go off with their age groups for the 'teaching' sessions each week except for in the Holy Communion services, on week four of each calendar month, when we all come together again for communion.
The location of this depends on where the whole church are meeting, so "another building" may mean the church or the church hall.
The specific age groups are:
| Crèche (0-3 yrs) | Facilities are provided for parents to supervise their children during any part of the service, in a room near to where the rest of the church are. | |
| 4-7 yrs | Are taught in a separate room near where the rest of the church are, or in another building. | |
| 8-11 yrs. | Are taught in a separate room, or in another building. | |
| ShAlive (12-14 yrs) | (St Helen's Alive) are taught in a separate room, or in another building. These also meet together before the main service on week four. | |
| U-S (14 +) | Urban Saints these stay as adults for the whole service. Also meet on Sunday nights to study the bible, pray and chill out together. |
Youth Work at Trowell:
Many of the activities are reaching out to 'non churched' as
well as young people from church, and are having an effect in the community.
They include The Happening for 11 to 16 year olds. We run this
fortnightly on Thursdays as an open youth club with Christian teaching.
